If I Wrote for General Hospital

5. AJ would not have had to give up Michael.

. . . and all the other bad things that the writer made AJ endure. AJ, played by Sean Kanan, was a pretty good guy. He and Keesha had a good thing. He and Carly had a good friendship. Then, they re-cast, and although I liked Billy Warlock, the writers made AJ the character a total loser. And then, they killed him off the show. More history in the grave.

4. Sonny would have gone to jail a long time ago and stayed there.

This character has totally taken over the show during the past decade. He is a f*ckin' mobster, and yet he's the good guy. He is not good looking, and has few redeeming qualities. And yet, 90% of the story lines involve him. Can you say, FAST FORWARD?

3. Jason would have gotten his memory back.

Um, this is a little drawn out now, don't you think? I think it's been like 15 years since he first lost his memory. Again, he's a criminal, and still the boy wonder to Sonny's lead. The Quartermaines' deserve him back, especially since they lost AJ.

2. Zander would have lived.

This is one of the story lines which has made no impact historically. There is no remnant of his existence left on the show, much to my dismay. Although his child is mentioned in nearly episode, nobody acknowledges that he is Zander's son, and not Lucky's.

And the number one story I would have done differently if I wrote for General Hospital . . .

1. Luke and Laura would not have ended up together.

Sure, it was THE biggest story line in Soap Opera history. And although I am now a fan of Luke and Laura and the whole Spencer clan, I did not believe in this couple. I loved the Laura and Scotty storyline. It was wrong for her to leave her husband Scotty for her rapist Luke. And it was wrong of them to have made Scotty into the bad guy for decades to follow. When Laura and Scott dated again recently (after Luke and Laura's divorce), I was very happy. Until she left his ass all over again. Sob.
