See Me Beautiful

Thank you to all for the well wishes before my boards. I took them earlier this week, and am now just recovered from the entire process. Time for me to get back to my life. I slept well last night for the first time in months; actually fell asleep in my son's bed with him last night, contact lenses in and plain clothes on and everything. I guess I needed the sleep.

Spring has arrived, and the kids have been enjoying the nicer weather. The school year is wrapping up, and the children are much better adjusted to their new school. Daughter had her Kindergarten show last week, and performed her first ever speaking part (we are so very proud of her):

We sometimes make mistakes and are unkind to our friends because we are still learning. That is why it may take some time, it may be hard to find, but we are still beautiful.

She and the 25 other Kindergartners then sang, "See Me Beautiful." It is a good thing that they had distributed tissues prior to the show because the performance brought tears to everyone's eyes. I am welling up as I type.

See me beautiful, look for the best in me.
That’s what I really am, and all I want to be.
It may take some time
It may be hard to find, but see me beautiful.

See me beautiful, each and every day.
Could you take a chance? Could you find a way?
To see me shining through in everything I do

And see me beautiful.

Here is Red Grammer's wonderful performance with Chinese erhu performer Cheng Lin, on the Great Wall of China. Enjoy! And may you always see the beauty within yourselves, our children, and those around you!
